Growing up in the 70’s was amazing. Before big box stores, robots, and cell phones, it seemed life was more intimate; more intentional; simpler. I have fond memories of family outings, arcades, and milk bottles from the dairy farm down the street.

Some things have not changed as much as I anticipated. Now, as then, we struggle against the weight of inflation where every dollar matters. Shrinkflation is fully evident as I investigate my cupboard and see the “Family Sized” cereal box that used to be three inches deep and now has half the depth.

I recently purchased an ice cream with disappointing flavor, a picture frame where the hook fell off the back before I could hang it, and a pair of jeans that started falling apart way too soon.  Quality has decreased while prices have increased.

It was these experiences, and more, that inspired me to create Hearth & Sole. I make quality, handcrafted products that will provide years of style and functionality to your life. As all handmade products are unique and individual, discrepancies may exist between pictures on this site and the product you receive. My commitment to you is that I will do my best to perfectly replicate the item you purchase from my site, and if you are not completely satisfied, I will work with you to make it right.
